After the morning sessions, I joined in an adhoc group of websters to discuss how best the Mars Society can efficiantly market and sell its various wares. Afterwards, I had time to take in one talk before setting up for my talk. This one was on the social aspects of Mars by Biologist Dr. Athena Andreadis. Quite refreshing. Next it was a wait for Jeff Daly from CompView and the famous SMART Board. Through CompView's head office in Portland, Bob Fieldler arranged for me to use one of their latest video projectors and the SMART Board screen. I connected with Jeff OK, but then had to wait as the speakers before went overtime. So setting a new land-speed record for setting up and configuring the system, (under four minutes!) it was off and running. It seemed to whip by, and afterwards many questions were asked.
Also, I learned afterwards that James Cameron himself sat in on the talk, and was reportedly taking notes! At any rate, the director for the BBC film crew covering the convention approached me afterwards to setup an interview! "Film at Eleven." 4:30 on Sunday, actually! All in all, Quite productive, and it seemed (to me at least), the crowd loved it! | |
