The morning session started off with Carol Stoker's great recap of the Mars Arctic Research Station, (M.A.R.S.), currently being run on Devon Island in Northern Canada. Carol stressed the many needs for this sort of "analog" Martian Base. Next, Titanic director James Cameron gave a great, illustrated talk on two upcoming film projects he is working on, which make extensive use of the Mars Direct plan. He finished up with an impassioned plea to get to Mars!
Finally, the Planetary Society's Louis Friedman, headed up a panel from that organization, talking about their current activities. | ||
